DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI)

Dismantling harmful structures, celebrating diversity, and working toward a more inclusive and equitable Anchorage.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) workgroup within the Anchorage Alliance for Violence Prevention (AAVP) works toward promoting social justice and diverse identities including, but not limited to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) community, people with a disability, and women. This workgroup creates initiatives and events with the intent to dismantle harmful structures, policies, social norms, stereotypes, and stigmas that perpetuate violence.
